Is Manual Handling Training a Legal Requirement?

It is not mandatory for all staff but, if a member of staff  needs to lift an object under the Manual Handling Regulations you are legally obliged to ensure all employees are trained and competent in manual handling.

Staff should avoid manual handling and, if they can’t, you must take steps to reduce the risk of injury.

Who's it for?

The Level 2 Principles of Manual Handling This qualification is suitable for all employees to raise their awareness of the risks of unsafe manual handling practices and for people who might have to carry out manual handling as part of their job, for example:-
  • Handling deliveries
  • Parcels and boxes.
  • As an introduction to those starting work, which may involve carrying out manual handling activities.
  • To raise awareness about the importance of safe manual handling and for those returning to work where manual handling activities may be required.

What will I get out of the training?

The course will conclude with candidates undertaking a multi-choice examination, the successful completion of which will result in the awarding of a Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Manual Handling (QCF) this certificate is valid for 3 years.

The course takes half day and can be started at any time suitable to your needs, this includes weekends and evenings as well.
